Ludlow Jute Mills was established in1921, as the only American owned jute mill in India. It was taken over by Mr. S. S. Kanoria in 1977. Ludlow has been a pioneer in the jute industry, having been responsible for many innovative jute products. It introduced for the first time in the world products such as cotton bagging, soil saver, webbing, jute mesh/scrim, carpet backing and many others. Now it is one of the leading jute mills in the country, manufacturing and exporting a wide range of products under the LUDLOW brand name to countries such as U.S.A., U.K., Belgium, Holland, Germany, Turkey, Japan, France, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Israel, etc.

In 1994 Ludlow Jute Mills got ISO-9002 certification for its entire range of products. It is the first composite jute mill in the world to have achieved this distinction.
